I've been here many times over the years, but this is probably one of the best plates I've had here. The steak tasted really good, like it was marinated, with rice and beans, delicious green home made hot sauce, and some sort of cabbage salad. Everything was fresh, delicious, and I'll definitely be back. Even all the way from west Islip

I love this place. The food hardly disappoints. If you don't know Spanish they could be a little strange around you. Prices are good.

I've been to La Confianza twice and really enjoyed the food both times. The first time was a few years ago. Our Spanish speaking friend who ate there often brought us here and we had a FEAST! We each ordered on our own (pick 2-3 things) on top of rice (white rice, rice with beans, or yellow Spanish rice) and we each paid at the counter before sitting. Our friend then ordered additional food to share... all sorts of dishes we've never tried before. It was a heavenly experience, we left SO FULL! The second time we came here for a quick lunch before hopping on the Sunday 2:30pm LIRR back to the city. There was a line since there was only one lady scooping up your choices. The lady isn't quite friendly, but she's not mean either... just efficient so don't expect warm smiles or anything when you ask her questions (my poor vegetarian friend got a icy stare/no response when she asked about the salad). She shrugged and said "no" when I asked if they had any vegetables (lol?). I ordered the chicken (in red/orange sauce) and the fantastic grilled steak (a good sized piece) on top of yellow rice ($12). The hot sauce with their steak is INCREDIBLE. I think the salad comes with your container... so ask for salad before you get to the register. The guy at the register was really nice when I asked about their in-house green hot sauce and he gave me two extra small containers. All in all, the food here speaks for itself! EAT HERE! The booths cleared out quickly so we were able to dine in both times. Relatively clean space. Note: my friend got charged more for the same meal when she went with her mom (not Spanish) than when she went with her Spanish speaking friend. So maybe non-locals like myself get charged more? *shrug* steak was worth it!

Excellent authentic food. If you're going for great personality then you'll be disappointed. My guess is if you don't look Latin or speak Spanish then you shouldn't be here. That was my impression and I could be wrong. It's a business and all money is acceptable. Now about the food. EXCELLENT! !!! One of the best chicken dishes I've ever had. I can't talk about the sit down service. I go in point you what I want because there is a language barrier. Great food. Great prices. Quick.

Pretty good hot plates spot in patchogue right near the train station. We kept it light and just tried some ribs, rice and tamales. Everything was good and very affordable. I noticed almost every patron was ordering a big bowl of some kind of soup. Considering how hot it was outside and also the fact there's no AC, really had me wondering what awesomeness that soup must consist of. Will have to try on my next visit.

This place is an awesome "to-go" or quick lunch-stop place, especially if you find yourself around the Patchogue train station. Basically, it is your typical "choose a rice...choose a bean...choose as many meats as can fit on your plate. Pay $7." Why do I love it so much? (1) The meat -- There is a large assortment of meat that you can choose (I got to choose 3 different meats -- probably about 1.5 pounds in total -- but it seems you can choose as much meat as fits on your pretty large platter). Carne asada, fall-off-the-bone pork shoulder, BBQ pork, ribs, chicken, fish, etc. All prepared fresh and much of it grilling behind the servers as you order. (2) The price -- $7 for a plate loaded with great tasting meat, rice and beans. That's hard to beat. (3) The accouterments -- Tamales for $1.50 each are hard to pass-up and taste outstanding as well. Plus, a number of other a la carte items you can add to your order should you still be hungry (Doubtful) after you polish off the $7 plate. (4) Criticisms -- The interior is in bad need of a renovation and for some reason they didn't offer bottles of Coke/Pepsi (Believe they might have had Latin American bottled colas). Overall, outstanding flavor/quantity for your dollar. Authentic cuisine and well-located by the train station.
